Must Try Quesadilla Burgers: Low Carb and Trim Healthy Mama S

These low carb, trim healthy mama s quesadilla burgers are so stinking good, you must make these!

I am trying to find new ways to eat hamburgers. Meat costs are going up and ground meat can often be the cheapest option. I have found really good deals on ground meat lately and I want new ways to make meals with it. Use whatever unflavored ground meat you can find that’s a good deal (I wouldn’t use Italian flavored ground meat or something like that).

One of the great things about these quesadilla burgers is that they can be made to each person’s taste.

The one pictured above is mine, it has some guacamole added. My hubby’s is the first one pictured. I add fresh jalapeno slices to his. You can use your imagination, keep it simple, or make them all the same. In the middle of both of the burgers is something that we dipped them in. I took some pico de gallo, fresh or store bought, sour cream, mayo, and a little chili powder and ground cumin. My hubby isn’t a huge fan of sour cream but he really liked this.

Here are a few tips that might help you when making these low carb quesadilla burgers.

I made 6 burgers out of the 2 pounds. I also thought a single skillet would work. It technically did but I would use a griddle. One the burgers were cooked I could only cook one at a time with the tortilla. You could even grill them and it will come together so much faster!! These would also make great camping burgers as well. We have a 4th of July camping trip and these will be on our menu. If using your grill, I would baste on some melted butter to get that crispy quesadilla finish. One last note, spice these up or take it down, use whatever “toppings” you want. Adjust this for your family and unique tastes.

Quesadilla Burgers, Low Carb THM S

Servings 0

Ingredients

  • 2 Lb Ground Meat
  • 1 t Salt
  • 1/2 t Pepper
  • 1 t Cumin
  • 1 t Chili Powder
  • 1 t Onion Powder
  • 1 t Garlic Powder
  • Enough small tortillas, I used 12
  • 1 1/2-3 C Cheese I started with 1 1/2 cups but needed another cup
  • Toppings- Jalapenos, Pico, Guacamole, Avocado, etc.

Dip: 1/2 Cup Mayo, 1/2 Cup Sour Cream, 1 Cup Pico de Gallo, 1 t Cumin, 1 t Garlic Powder, 1/2 t Chili Powder Mix together

  • Butter or oil, if needed for cooking

Instructions

  • Mix the ground meat and seasonings together. Make as many patties as you want. I made 6. Cook until done.
  • Once they are cooked, place a tortilla on your cooking surface, add butter or oil if needed, Add desired amount of cheese and place the burger on top.
  • Top the burger with anything else you want. Here's hubby's.
  • I didn't want the cold pico or guac to get too hot, so I didn't cook the burgers too much together. As you can see by the picture above, I cooked the tortilla separate for a little bit. Here's mine.
  • When ready, place your tortillas together and flip. I only cooked for maybe one minute or so.
  • Serve with dip, if desired.
