What Are Snickers Overnight Oats?

Snickers overnight oats are a candy-bar-inspired version of overnight oats made with chocolate, peanut, and caramel flavors. This healthier version uses oats, Greek yogurt, protein powder, chia seeds, peanut butter powder, date caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, and chopped peanuts.

Instead of using actual candy, this recipe gives you those same rich flavors in a protein-packed breakfast.

Are Snickers Overnight Oats Healthy?

Yes, these High Protein Snickers Overnight Oats can be a healthy breakfast when made with balanced ingredients. This recipe uses oats for healthy carbs and fiber, nonfat Greek yogurt and protein powder for protein, chia seeds for texture, and peanut butter powder for peanut flavor without adding a lot of fat.

Are These Overnight Oats Trim Healthy Mama Friendly?

Yes, these High Protein Snickers Overnight Oats can be THM E friendly when made with low-fat ingredients and controlled amounts of peanuts.

The oats and date caramel make this an E meal because they provide healthy carbs. Since the date caramel and chocolate sauces do not have added fat, they do not automatically push this into crossover territory.

To keep this recipe in E territory, use:

  • Low-fat or unsweetened almond milk
  • Nonfat Greek yogurt
  • Peanut butter powder instead of regular peanut butter
  • A light sprinkle of chopped peanuts
  • A small drizzle of unsweetened peanut butter
  • Chocolate sauce with no added fat
  • Date caramel sauce with no added fat

The peanuts are the main fat to watch. A small sprinkle gives you the Snickers-style crunch without making the meal too heavy.

Ingredient Notes

Oats

Old-fashioned oats work best for overnight oats. They soften overnight but still keep a nice texture.

Milk

Use unsweetened almond milk or another low-fat milk if you want to keep this recipe THM E friendly.

Nonfat Greek Yogurt

Nonfat Greek yogurt adds creaminess and protein. It also helps make the oats thick and filling.

Protein Powder

Vanilla protein powder works beautifully in this recipe because it adds sweetness and a creamy base flavor. Chocolate protein powder can also be used if you want a stronger chocolate flavor.

Peanut Butter Powder

Peanut butter powder gives these oats a peanut flavor without adding as much fat as regular peanut butter. This is the best choice for keeping the recipe lighter and E friendly.

No Sugar Added Peanut Butter

Melt it in the microwave to make drizzling in on top much easier.

Date Caramel Sauce

Date caramel sauce gives these oats the caramel flavor in a more natural way. Because the sauce has no added fat, it works well in this E-style breakfast.

Chocolate Sauce

Use a chocolate sauce with no added fat. This gives you the chocolate layer without making the oats too heavy.

Chopped Peanuts

A small amount of chopped peanuts adds crunch and gives the recipe that Snickers-style finish. Keep the amount light if you want the recipe to stay in THM E territory.

How to Make High Protein Snickers Overnight Oats

Step 1: Mix the Overnight Oats Base

In a medium bowl, combine milk, oats, nonfat Greek yogurt, chia seeds, vanilla, protein powder, sweetener, peanut butter powder, and a pinch of salt.

Stir well until everything is fully combined.

Step 2: Divide Into Jars

Divide the oat mixture into 4 jars or meal prep containers.

These are the jars I use. They are 10 oz. If you need bigger jars, they are available as well. I also use 16 oz jars for ore voluminous recipes.

Step 3: Add the Snickers Layers

Add a spoonful of date caramel sauce and a drizzle of chocolate sauce to each jar.

You can layer the sauces in the middle of the oats, add them on top, or do both. Finish with a drizzle of melted no sugar added peanut butter, if desired.

Step 4: Chill Overnight

Cover the jars and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours.

Step 5: Add Peanuts Before Serving

Before serving, top each jar with a small sprinkle of chopped peanuts.

This keeps the peanuts crunchy and gives the oats the best texture.

How Much Date Caramel and Chocolate Sauce Should I Use?

The exact amount depends on your taste and your personal THM numbers. I used most of the date sauce and chocolate sauce when I made my jars. If you aren’t into a lot of chocolate, use enough to cover the top, but that’s it. It’s all going to be your taste.

A good starting point is:

  • 1-2 tablespoon date caramel sauce per serving
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate sauce per serving
  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon chopped peanuts per serving

This gives you the chocolate, peanut, and caramel flavor without making the oats overly sweet or too heavy.

THM E Tips for This Recipe

To keep these Snickers Overnight Oats in THM E territory:

  • Use nonfat Greek yogurt
  • Use unsweetened almond milk or another low-fat milk
  • Use peanut butter powder instead of regular peanut butter
  • Use no-added-fat date caramel sauce
  • Use no-added-fat chocolate sauce
  • Keep chopped peanuts to a light sprinkle
  • Avoid adding regular peanut butter, chocolate chips, heavy cream, or full-fat toppings
  • I used about a teaspoon of melted peanut butter to the top of each the jars

This recipe is an E because it contains oats and dates. The goal is to keep the added fat low so the meal stays energizing instead of becoming a heavy crossover.

Can I Make This More Chocolatey?

Yes. To make these oats more chocolatey, use chocolate protein powder or add a little cocoa powder to the oat mixture.  You can also use more of the chocolate sauce.

If adding cocoa powder, you may need to add extra sweetener because cocoa powder can taste bitter without enough sweetness. I am using raw cacao powder for extra health benefits.

Can I Use Regular Peanut Butter?

You can use regular peanut butter, but it will add more fat. If you are following THM and want this recipe to stay an E, peanut butter powder is the better choice.

If you are not worried about keeping it an E, a drizzle of natural peanut butter would be delicious.

Can I Make These Overnight Oats Dairy Free?

Yes. To make this recipe dairy free, use a dairy-free yogurt and a dairy-free protein powder.

Choose a low-fat dairy-free yogurt if you want to keep the recipe closer to THM E territory.

How to Store Overnight Oats

Store these overnight oats in covered jars or airtight containers in the refrigerator.

They will keep for up to 4 days.

For best texture, add the chopped peanuts right before eating so they stay crunchy.

Can You Freeze Overnight Oats?

Overnight oats are best stored in the refrigerator, but they can be frozen if needed.

To freeze, place them in freezer-safe containers and thaw overnight in the refrigerator before eating. Add the peanuts after thawing.

Best Toppings for Snickers Overnight Oats

These oats are already full of flavor, but you can add extra toppings if they fit your goals.

Good topping ideas include:

  • Chopped peanuts
  • Extra date caramel
  • Extra chocolate sauce
  • A few banana slices
  • A sprinkle of mineral salt
  • A little cocoa powder
  • A drizzle of peanut butter powder mixed with water

For THM E, keep toppings low in fat.
