Bacon Parmesan Skillet Green Beans
This low carb, trim healthy mama s side dish, is perfect for holidays or busy weeknights.
Skillet bacon Parmesan green beans were born when I needed a flavorful side dish and I hadn’t been to the store for a little bit. This recipe uses whole canned green beans. I bought these canned green beans for a low carb bacon wrapped green beans. I ended up not making them and they sat in my pantry for months! I was desperate for a yummy side last night.
When you need something fast on a busy night, this is perfect.
I wanted something to go with crockpot pesto ranch chicken. This ended up being a great pairing. My whole family loved it so much! It is definitely going on our menu a lot now. I even have at least one in the house that doesn’t like green beans and he gave this recipe a thumbs up.
Bacon!! Who doesn’t like bacon?
Well, bacon prices are going up so bacon won’t be on our menu quite as much. BUT you can use as much or as little bacon as possible. I used 4 pieces for both cans. You can use turkey bacon if you want to use something a bit more budget friendly or if you don’t eat pork. How I save money on bacon: I buy a large pack when it’s on sale and divide it up in freezer bags for breakfasts and “seasoning” packs. I put the number of pieces on the outside of the baggie so I know how many pieces I am thawing,
You can change this up to match whatever you are serving it with.
The chili flakes are definitely a personal choice. It matched well with the crockpot pesto ranch chicken. Don’t add the Parmesan cheese if you are making something Asian. Add some soy sauce or Bragg;s and maybe a little brown sugar substitute. Perfect Asian green beans!! Play with this recipe and see how many different ways you serve it. It’s so crazy easy!!
