Lean and Lovely: Greek Smash Tacos THM S

Craving something satisfying, flavorful, and trim healthy mama approved? You have come to the right place. Smash tacos are so easy to make, and I haven’t had one I didn’t like. These are probably my favorite ones so far!  These are such a tasty twist on the smash burger!

These Greek Smash Tacos are perfect for a quick dinner!

Plenty of lean protein, vibrant flavors, and plenty of toppings. Tangy feta, crisp cucumbers, zesty yogurt sauce, black olives, and more. They really only take minutes to make. They come together in no time and cook in just a few minutes. And they are customizable! You can see hubby’s pictured above. He is pretty picky on a few things. Adjust as needed!!

We had our Greek Smash Tacos with Joseph’s Pita Bread.

You can use whatever bread you like. We just happened to have enough pitas for everyone and they absolutely loved them! We used some of the toppings for the tacos and some for a side salad. I leave the cucumbers out of the tzatziki sauce. My hubby hates cucumbers. If you make these, let me know how they turn out.

Here are a few tips on how I made them:

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb Lean meat I used a mixture of ground beef and ground turkey
  • 1/2 t Salt
  • 1/4 `t Black Pepper
  • 1 t Oregano
  • 1 t Onion Poweder
  • 1/2 t Garlic Powder
  • 1 t Dried Parsley

Lemon Herb Sauce:

  • 1/2 C Non-fat Greek Yogurt
  • 1 T Lemon Juice
  • 1 t Dried Dill
  • 1 t Dried Parsley
  • 1 Clove Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 C Cucumber, grated and squeezed dry

Toppings: Olives, Feta, Red Onion, Cucumbers, etc.

Instructions

  • Mix meat with the seasonings.
  • Place a thin layer on each piece of bread of choice. We used Joseph's pitas. I spread about 1/4 on each pita. Depending on the size of the bread you are using, you might need more or less. Use your own judgement.
  • Place the burgers meat side down in a skillet over medium heat. Cook for about 2 minutes and flip. The meat needs to be thin so it cooks through quickly.
  • Cook for about a minute or so on the other side.
  • Add desired toppings.
