Teriyaki Chicken Wings- Sugar-free! Easy and Delicious

The Best Teriyaki Chicken Wings (THM S) – Perfect for Freezer Prep!
Y’all, these Teriyaki Chicken Wings are about to become your new obsession! They’re sweet, savory, and have that perfect Asian-inspired flavor that makes everyone come back for more. The best part? You can prep them ahead and freeze them, making weeknight dinners (or game day snacks!) absolutely effortless.
I created this recipe as part of my Week 5 Summer Stock-Up series, and let me tell you – these wings have been a HUGE hit with my family.
Why You’ll Love These Wings:
Perfect for meal prep: Dump everything in a freezer bag and you’re done! The wings marinate as they freeze, developing even more flavor.
Restaurant-quality flavor at home: That sweet and savory teriyaki taste without any questionable ingredients or sugar crashes.
THM S approved: All the satisfaction with none of the guilt – these fit perfectly into your Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle.
Foolproof cooking method: Baked on a rack for perfectly crispy skin every time.
Teriyaki Chicken Wings Recipe (THM S)
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 4 tablespoons Bragg’s liquid aminos
- 1-2 tablespoons fresh ginger (I used ginger paste for convenience)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar alternative (I love Brown Swerve for this!)
- 2 pinches salt and pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
For Immediate Cooking:
- Marinate the wings: In a large bowl, whisk together garlic, liquid aminos, ginger, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar alternative, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Add wings and toss to coat completely
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (longer is better!)
- Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F. Place wings on a baking rack set over a rimmed baking sheet
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, flip wings halfway through cooking
- Optional glaze: Brush with any remaining marinade during the last 5 minutes of cooking
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately
For Freezer Prep:
- Dump and freeze: Place wings and all marinade ingredients in a gallon-sized freezer bag
- Seal well, removing as much air as possible
- Label with cooking instructions and freeze flat
- When ready to cook: Thaw completely in refrigerator, then follow baking instructions above

My Pro Tips:
🔥 Crispy Skin Secret: Using a baking rack is KEY! It allows air to circulate around the wings, giving you that perfect crispy exterior we all crave. Make a little extra marinade, simmer on the stove, add a little bit of honey. Brush over the wings the last 5 minutes.
⏰ Marinate Magic: The longer you marinate, the better the flavor. If cooking fresh, try to give them at least 2 hours. If freezing, they’ll marinate beautifully as they thaw!
🌶️ Heat Level: Want some kick? Add a pinch of red pepper flakes, cayenne, or a splash of sriracha to the marinade.
🥢 Serving Ideas: These are incredible on their own, but also amazing over cauliflower rice for a complete meal, alongside Asian cucumber salad, Asian green beans, or Asian slaw.

Freezer Prep Benefits:
When you prep these wings ahead, you’re essentially getting restaurant-quality appetizers ready to go whenever you need them. Perfect for:
- Unexpected guests
- Game day parties
- Quick weeknight dinners
- Meal prep Sunday success
The marinade does all the work while the wings freeze, so you actually get BETTER flavor than cooking them fresh!
Storage & Reheating:
Fresh wings: Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days Frozen prep: Use within 3 months for best quality Reheating: Pop back in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes to re-crisp the skin
Make It a Meal:
These wings pair perfectly with:
- Cauliflower fried rice (keep it S)
- Asian cucumber salad (light and refreshing)
- Steamed broccoli with garlic
- Mixed greens salad with sesame dressing
THM Notes:
These wings are a satisfying THM S when you use a sugar-free sweetener like Brown Swerve. The combination of healthy fats and protein will keep you satisfied without the blood sugar roller coaster!
These wings prove that eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor. Enjoy every delicious bite!
