It’s A German Taco Fiesta! German Smash Tacos- THM S & Low Carb

German Smash Tacos- THM S and Low Carb!

Hold onto your Lederhosen! Here is a new smash taco recipe to try. A delightful fusion you never knew you needed to try. All the flavors of a traditional brat, but in a smash taco. The recipe is super easy to make, but the flavors are perfect. You get the quintessential German flavors but in the convenience of a smash taco.

The only thing that took time were the caramelized onions.

I used brats that I opened the casings to get to the ground meat. Mash the meat all of the low carb tortillas as thin as possible. That is key! All the way to the edges and thin. I set everything out and allowed each person to make their own German smash tacos how they wanted.

Substitute what you need/want with your family.

Use pickled instead of caramelized onions. Sauerkraut? I love it, but you can leave it off. We used Munster cheese, German mustard and pickles. The delicious German sausage, kraut, caramelized onions, and more made for a delicious and unique dinner.  Adjust, swap, make it fit your family.

We had braised red cabbage and German potato salad (that recipe is coming soon)
